Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico and is an American-Mexican actor. Also, she sings. Her mom raised her in the USA and she was subject to numerous racial slurs that left her feeling like an unwanted person. In the ninth grade, after a school audition, where she was praised for her voice and acoustics, she began to gain confidence. Not only did she gain confidence from the experience however, she also re-evaluate her career goals. She graduated at the age of 22 with an education from the Julliard School in New York. When she was 23, her first Broadway show with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut film, You've Got Mail, were her biggest breakthroughs. The biggest accomplishment of her career occurred when she played The Lady of The Lake as Spamalot's first Broadway production. Not only did she receive the Tony Award, but her performance was also praised by reviewers. Her fame grew when she appeared in Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. She is known as a performer and also released a single and an extended show. In addition, she's an activist who is active in the field of LGBT rights.
