Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Her first Broadway performances, she starred in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her role as Essie Carmahiel in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel won her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in a Play. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked with many acclaimed actors and directors on stage and screen. She continues this award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford will be next starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani on the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently working on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. This film is an Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. Ashford will be seen alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 revival of Stephen Sondheims Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who brought us Hamilton directed the production. Ashford portrayed Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters in the first impeachment trial in the United States in more than a century. Two seasons ago, Ashford was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. The series was created by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. Also, it had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway performances. Ashford is from the city of Denver resident who splits his time between Los Angeles.
